"KEYS FOR HOPE" LAUNCHED IN SPRING 2022
The History
Sun Automotive is thrilled to introduce our program "Keys For Hope." Formerly known as "Duck My Ride," this program is designed to fulfill needs within our community. We had to pause this program when Covid-19 hit for various reasons, but we are grateful for the years that Duck My Ride was possible. Though the effects of Covid are still present, we are happier than ever to be able to give back to our local community.
This year, we were able to give away a 2004 Toyota Sienna that has been fully serviced and maintained by Sun Automotive for years.

2022 Story
We are so happy to announce that on Friday, June 10th, we had the honor of giving a van away through our “Keys for Hope” program. This year, we were able to gift a vehicle to Shelley R. who is single-handedly raising her four grandchildren (ranging from 2 to 7 years of age). She previously did not have a vehicle to accommodate safely transporting them all at the same time. Thank you to all of our staff, participating vendors, and everyone else who made this program possible. We are thrilled to provide a safe and reliable vehicle for Shelley and her family.

Shelley selflessly has dedicated her life to raising these kids, some of whom have additional challenges. She stepped up in a time of need within her family, and parenting has become her full-time job. Due to difficult familial circumstances, this was the best option for the children. This vehicle will allow them to safely get everywhere from the grocery store to a doctor visit. We are inspired by her love and resilience, and are so grateful that Keys for Hope allowed us to get to know her and hear some of her story.

Update: To the left are Shelley's grandchildren. We are filled with joy seeing their smiling faces and knowing that this vehicle will have a positive impact on this family. We are grateful to be part of their story.
